mesmers have good and bad elites, just like every other class. as for nightfall having no good ones, try visions of regret.
i'd have to say paragons have the worst elites. the only one i actually used (before i stopped playing it) was soldier's fury. and it wasn't even that good. paras get to choose what "best of the worst" elites to use.

But Unyielding Aura is so much fun! It's the only skill that allows you to kill off your team mates...provided they've died once already. ^^

But yeah, I'd have to say Ritualist, too. Except when using specially tailored builds (like a build that uses Spirit's Strength), I never even use the Ritualist elites. I'll go to Necromancer, Mesmer, or Monk before I use some of them. :P

Assassins have plenty of good elites. A friend of mine farms with Flashing Blades quite successfully and another used Palm Strike well. I think the notion of something being "good" is largely subjective. My Sin only used Flashing Blades...because I'm not far enough with her to cap Mobieus Strike.

I gotta agree that Paras and Rits have the worst. I decided that my Ranger would cap all the Paragon elites because Rangers are better Paragons than real Paragons. I wish Rits had more Channeling elites. Oh well...I'll cap Lightning Surge and pretend its Channeling. Maybe ANet will release more elites in a future update. Cuz some classes really need a buff.

Rits. Most rits builds i've seen or used don't really need their elite, have no elite, or use another profession's elite. Rit elites for the most part are weak and not very needed.

Either ranger or ritualist. Well, Broadhead Arrow is useful. Ritualist is just... Meh.

Recharge on that is way too long, which is why Shadow Prison is popular.

Rangers have a lot of good elites. Considering both PvE and PvP uses

Ranger:

Good: Barrage, Broad Head arrow, burning arrow , crippling shot, escape, glass arrows, heal as one, melandrus arrows, oath shot, poison arrow, practiced stance(this is a bit of throwback), rampage as one, smoke trap, spike trap

I'd say rits and sins have the fewest quality elites to make use of

It's assassins/ritualists.

Probably rits.

They just have OoS and VwK

I guess the Ritualists are getting the most hate. Personally my Ritualist is both my most and least used character. He's my oldest character that I haven't deleted at one point or another, and I used to use him all the time, now not at all.

I'm not sure if I stopped playing him because I didn't like the way he looks armor wise, but I believe it's probably moreso because he was a ritlord, and once they beat that skill with the nerf bat I had nowhere else to turn to. Being somewhat of a noob at that time I didn't have the money to afford new skills for changing my build. Honestly while Ritualists have some pretty bad elites, I think it's more of a thing that people aren't getting elites to work with them.

That said, [skill]Preservation[/skill] is still one of my favorites. It may have much to be desired, but the healing can help in pressure situations, and it's got an awesome icon to boot.

I don't think rits are getting hate here, it's just being pointed out that we have so few really good elites that most of us run without them.

One might even say that rits are so awesome, we don't need no stinking elites.

That said, Spirit's Strength is actually quite nice.

It's either Paragon or Ritualist. Both professions have fewer and poorly designed elites compared to core professions. Elite Song of Restoration heals for same as non-elite Heal Party. Healing power of Protective Was Kaolai is inferior to either skill. But then again when Healer's Boon got buffed, Healer's Covenant got left to total trash status. I don't think Izzy even cares to check related skills when he alters parameters of some.

Rits.

Oh and Simple Theivery is a brilliant skill in RA with the other 2 spell stealers. Kept my team in the game by stealing rez signets.

are you kidding me rits dont have the most useless elites...OoS, VwK, Weapon of remedy, Spirit Light weapon, Spirits strength, DwG, Attuned was songkai.. list goes on.

Imo mesmers and paragons have the highest useless to useful elite ratio..maybe even dervishes too because they hardly ever branch out beyond the avatars and reapers sweep..

I would say Ritualists as well... I have one, and have always found the elite was the "uhhh what do I really need" one... None of the elites are actually necessary for any build - you build it around the normal skills and then if there's a good elite to take you do so.

Problem is, most of the elites are barely useful. Clamor of Souls is nice for a channelling rit, but to use it you have to get closer than I'd like. Many of the elites give you energy gain - but many ritualist builds don't need to worry about managing energy at all because the spells barely cost anything!

So yeah, when the build is irrelevant to whatever the elite is - or when you would consider swapping the elite out for a normal skill because it's actually better - I'd have to say the elites are pretty useless. I haven't seen any other class that gets quite so bad.

lol you chemistry-major/minors make me laugh

/on-topic

who cares about what class has the "so-called worst elites." as long as your playing style is allowing you to be somewhat-good and have fun doing so, then that is ALL that matters.
